What Our Members Are Saying

“As I look back on the last year, one of the things I'm truly grateful for is The Slow Style Society. The membership community and the projects took my head to things I love to think and learn about, and the people are so lovely to know. It was a bright spot as we were handling some things that felt so heavy. I look forward to the coming year!”

— Kimberly S, New York

The thing I like best about being a member of the Slow Style Society is that it gives you a reason to try new things. I've learned that interiors need patience and a willingness to make mistakes, which we can do inside the membership. One of my favorite projects involved creating a “color world” for one of our rooms. It was really helpful!”

— Mamen I, Madrid, Spain

“In one of my favorite projects, I really started to understand color combinations differently, to consider pattern, and to become better at translating inspiration from nature into my home. Zandra is enthusiastic, encouraging, creative, knowledgeable, and resourceful!”

— Susan M, California

“I love that Zandra encourages us to use things we already have and to see those things in a new light. The material and activities are interesting, helpful, & so relevant. This is for real life, real homes, and real families! Zandra and the members of our group now feel like friends.”

— Tracy W, Pennsylvania

FAQs

  • It’s both, actually! Included in the membership is “Master The Mix,” my signature, 4 week course, which takes you through a step-by-step process to makeover a room in your home, using primarily what you already have. For most people, starting with the course is the best way to learn and implement the Slow Style approach, which you can then apply to your entire home. But if you’re not needing or wanting to makeover an entire room, you can skip ahead to any of the other video tutorials. (See the question about the Slow Style Framework, below, for more info on the other tutorials). I will absolutely help you decide if you’re not sure where to start and you have access to the course and all other tutorials for as long as you’re a member of the Slow Style Society.

  • Yes! The membership is ongoing. You’ll have access to the library and community forum right away. You’ll be able to join two live calls..whichever ones come up after the date you join.

  • I’ve developed a framework for you to follow so that you can become your own interior designer and create your dream home. It’s called “Slow” because you can do it at your own pace and because all the most beautiful homes are created over time, not overnight! The framework is broken down into 4 categories… these are the 4 skills you’ll be working on inside the video tutoral library, and they’re the 4 skills I believe you must master if you want to create a beautiful, meaningful home. The first one is “ Assessment” (which takes you through the process of evaluating what’s currently going on in your home and developing your vision for the future). “Creation” (where we practice creativity with specific step by step projects); “Translation” (where I teach you how to translate feelings and moods into decor decisions. And “Education” (which primarily consists of master classes with guest speakers all about the world of interiors).

  • I’m here for you! The beauty of the Slow Style Society is that you can do any of the lessons on your own, at your own pace, but you still have access to me for personalize help. We have a live community call once a month via Zoom (I call these the “Style Sessions”). You can ask anything during these calls and you’ll get my advice as well as input from other members. If don’t want to wait for the next Style Session, you can email me your question. I’ll respond within 48 hours (though usually it’s within a few hours). So basically, you have me in your back pocket at any time!

  • Examples of projects from across the skill areas can include things like a lesson on mood boarding, DIY projects such as hand-dyeing linen napkins, step by step lessons on how to create a vignette or style shelves, a tutorial on flower arranging, masterclasses with a guest speakers about choosing color or the history of design.

  • Nope! All of the content is online and accessible through our website. Once you’re a member, you receive a password to login and you can find everything you’re looking for in one place. Our live community calls happen once a month via Zoom. You’ll get a link to join and all you have to do is click it. Those calls are recorded for people who can’t make it live and the recordings are also on that same membership website. Our private community board (which is where you can post photos, share what you’re working on, ask question and leave comments) is on Facebook. If you don’t use Facebook, you can still create an account, giving FB very little personal information, and only use it to access our private group. Facebook does not share this group information and we will never share your contact information, ever, for any reason.

  • The membership is explicitly set up so that you can participate at your own pace. There’s no such thing as “falling behind.” I encourage you to at least carve out an hour each month to attend the live community call (or watch the replay). That’s how you’ll stay connected to the group and find the inspiration and motivation you need to tackle your projects. As for the projects themselves, sometimes you might take an hour to play around with a vignette while other times, you might spend a few hours over the course of a month on a mood board. DIYS can take anywhere from 30 min to a few hours, or you might simply be setting the table in a new way and that’ll take very little time. The projects are always there for you to try out, and none of them are required! You work on whatever is of most interest to you each month.
