Your Style DNA:
You’re a STORY HUNTER
Your Main Obstacle:
Facing a CLUTTER WALL
YOUR DESIGN PERSONALITY
You've always been drawn to things with a past.
A great object, for you, is one that makes you ask questions — where did it come from, who made it, what was it used for, and how did it end up here?
You shop with your eyes wide open and your gut fully engaged.
You love the unexpected combination, the thing that shouldn't work but absolutely does, the contrast between old and new, rough and refined, serious and a little absurd.
Your home at its best looks like it came together over a lifetime — because it did, and that's exactly the point.
YOUR STARTING POINT
Before you move a single thing, you need to know what you're working toward.
YOUR FIRST ACTION
Why This First
A clear vision of how you want this room to feel is what will keep you motivated when the decluttering gets hard — and it will get hard. Think of it as your north star for the work ahead.
What To Do
Sit in the room quietly for a few minutes. Then write down how you want to feel when you're in this room. Think about the story you want this room to tell. If this room were a character in a film, what would it say about the person who lives here? What chapter of your life does this room need to reflect right now? Your vision isn't a list of objects — it's a narrative. And every object that earns a place in this room will need to contribute to that narrative.
The Challenge
Of all the design personalities, Story Hunters have the hardest time decluttering — because almost everything has a story, and stories are hard to let go of. The vision won't make that easy. But it will give you a way to reframe the question. Instead of "do I love this?" ask "does this belong in the story this room is telling?" Those are very different questions, and the second one is a lot more useful.
Some Encouragement
The room you're capable of creating — layered, personal, completely unrepeatable — is worth the hard work of getting there. The decluttering is just the first chapter.
WHAT COMES NEXT
Your Design Personality and your Starting Point are just that — a starting point.
Where you go from here depends on things a quiz can't ask you: your stage of life, your budget, who you share your home with, and the specific rooms that need the most attention.
That's exactly why I created the Slow Style Framework.
